A Slice is Nice: Dinner at UMass' Berkshire DC

Last night, I had the privilege of visiting the highly acclaimed Berkshire Dining Commons for dinner. While it can be incredibly crowded at times, the general consensus amongst students is that it is the best place to eat on campus (for students with a meal plan, anyway). The layout is nice, complete with large televisions and comfortable chairs, booths, and high tops. The pizza selection was vast, as an array of six different pizzas lay awaiting me--all of which were oven-fired and looked delicious. While I chose cheese (as always) for review purposes, other pizza options included pepperoni, chicken bacon ranch and BBQ, white garlic, caesar salad, and vegetarian.

A Slice is Nice: Late Night Trip to Roots Cafe

A late night craving for pizza hit me hard last night, so I ventured over to the Roots Cafe, located in the brand new Commonwealth Honors College dorms. Roots is a 24/7 facility that serves pizza, subs, and sandwiches, along with an organic drink selection and salad bar. It also has a nice study space and events hall attached to it, making it a great place to stop in for a late night snack.

A Slice is Nice: UMass Pizza Critic Visits Franklin Dining Commons

Both today and last Tuesday I had the opportunity to visit Franklin Dining Commons, one of UMass Dining's #1 nationally ranked dining halls. Seeing as "Frank" is in the lower tier of the UMass DCs, compared to the upscale and recently renovated Berkshire and Hampshire, I had relatively low expectations. To my surprise, Franklin delivered a solid slice of pizza.
